What yacht charter are you looking for?
Amalfi Coast Yacht Charter
Nothing beats an Amalfi Coast Yacht Charter Vacation. The Amalfi Coast is the Mediterranean’s most iconic coastline, a place that has inspired artists like Picasso and Steinbeck with its dramatic cliffs, colorful towns, and timeless beauty. We highly recommend it for high-end luxury yacht charters—its lower VAT makes it an excellent alternative to the South of France, offering luxury with fewer bureaucratic hassles.
Starting from Naples or Salerno, the main superyacht hubs, you can explore UNESCO treasures like Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius, dive into the crystal-clear waters around Capri’s famous Faraglioni rocks, and indulge in world-class cuisine. Think fresh seafood in Amalfi, handmade pasta in Ravello, and limoncello straight from Sorrento.
The Amalfi Coast is also a great launching point for an extended yacht charter to Corsica and Sardinia. For this trip we recommend at least 10-14 days, so you don’t have to rush.
Types of Yacht Charters on the Amalfi Coast
The main categories of yachts for chartering in Amalfi Coast are given below. Check out various crewed yacht charter options of luxury yachts, motor yachts, power catamarans, and other yacht charters.
Motor Yacht Charters on the Amalfi Coast
We recommend a luxury motor yacht charter if you want to explore the Amalfi Coast in style and with maximum efficiency. These yachts are usually based in Naples or Salerno, where the ports can accommodate their size, and they’re perfect for quickly hopping between hotspots like Positano, Amalfi, and Capri. With powerful engines, you can cover more ground in less time, giving you plenty of room to enjoy the luxury onboard. Think jacuzzis, sun decks, and all the comforts of a floating five-star hotel. A motor yacht is ideal if you want to see as much as possible, without compromising on comfort.
Catamaran Charters on the Amalfi Coast
For a relaxed and spacious experience, we recommend an Amalfi Coast catamaran charter. Catamarans are perfect for exploring the Amalfi Coast’s hidden gems, thanks to their shallow draft that lets you anchor close to secluded beaches and coves. Most catamarans are based in Naples or nearby ports, making them a great starting point for exploring the coastline at a slower pace. They’re incredibly stable and roomy, ideal for families or groups looking for a comfortable way to enjoy the region. With plenty of deck space for sunbathing and lounging, and easy water access, catamarans are great for relaxed cruising and soaking up the Amalfi vibe.
Sailing Yacht Charters on the Amalfi Coast
If you’re after the romance and tradition of sailing, we recommend a monohull sailing yacht. The Amalfi Coast’s steady winds and calm waters make it a dream for sailors who want to feel connected to the sea. Sailing yachts are typically smaller and more nimble, perfect for navigating close to the coastline and taking in the incredible views of places like Ravello and Furore. Starting from Naples or Salerno, these yachts are great for travelers who enjoy the charm of classic sailing and don’t mind taking their time to appreciate the journey. It’s the perfect mix of adventure and scenery.

Amalfi
Located on the central Amalfi Coast, Amalfi Town is a must-visit on an Amalfi Coast Yacht Charter. The town borders the Gulf of Salerno and is characterized by steep cliffs along its rugged coastline. The town is known for its dramatic coastal setting, with colorful buildings climbing up the steep slopes and overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Amalfi is renowned for its historical and cultural sites, notably the 9th-century Cathedral of St. Andrew. Beyond coastal charm, the region offers inland adventures with several popular trekking routes. The Path of Gods trail from Agerola to Positano is a highlight, along with hikes to Valle delle Ferriere’s waterfalls, and Monte Faito where you will get the most amazing panoramic views of the Gulf of Naples and the Sorrento Peninsula.
Positano
Positano is no doubt best explored by yacht charter, as it provides a unique perspective of the town and the stunning coastline. The town is built into the side of a cliff, and the houses are literally stacked one on top of the other. The main beach in Positano is Spiaggia Grande, a long and wide stretch of sand with stunning views of the town and the surrounding mountains. There are also other smaller beaches in Positano, such as Fornillo Beach, for those looking to stay away from crowds.
Positano is famous for its traditional Italian cuisine. Some of the most popular dishes include spaghetti alle vongole (spaghetti with clams), and scialatielli alle cozze (fresh pasta with mussels).
For in-land exploration, there is the Path of Gods, a hiking trail that offers incredible views of the coastline. Positano is also a great place to shop for souvenirs, ceramics, and local arts.
Ravello
Ravello is another town on the Amalfi Coast that should not be missed on an Amalfi Coast yacht charter. Perched high above the Tyrrhenian Sea, Ravello offers stunning panoramic views of the coastline. The town is surrounded by lush gardens, terraced vineyards, and lemon groves, creating a serene and romantic atmosphere.
One of Ravello’s most iconic landmarks is Villa Rufolo, a historic villa known for its beautiful gardens. The villa dates back to the 13th century and has been a source of inspiration for many artists and writers. The annual Ravello Festival, featuring classical music concerts, takes place in the gardens of Villa Rufolo.
Also visit the medieval Ravello Cathedral, dedicated to Saint Pantaleon. Its interior houses valuable artworks and relics, making it a cultural and historical site.
Capri
Capri is an island located off the tip of the Sorrentine Peninsula. It is one of the top destinations for yacht charters in this area and should not be missed. The Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra) is one of Capri’s most iconic natural attractions. This sea cave is renowned for its mesmerizing blue color, created by the sunlight filtering through an underwater cavity. Another huge attraction is the iconic sea stacks, known as the Faraglioni rocks, rising dramatically from the sea. Boat tours often take you through the arch of the Faraglioni for a memorable experience.
Capri town itself offers high-end shopping, fine dining, and a lively atmosphere. Explore the ruins of Villa Jovis, an ancient Roman villa, perched on the eastern cliffs of Capri. Built by Emperor Tiberius, it offers stunning views of the Gulf of Naples.
When it comes to marinas you have two options in Capri. Marina Grande and Marina Piccola. Marina Grande is the larger of the two, bustling with activity, while Marina Piccola offers a quieter setting with crystal-clear waters.
Sorrento
Located on the northern side of the Sorrentine Peninsula, Sorento serves as an excellent base for yacht charters, providing easy access to some of the most sought-after destinations in the region. Positioned near the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento offers a gateway to the enchanting islands of Capri and Ischia, as well as the picturesque Amalfi Coast itself.
Sorrento has a rich cultural heritage. Visitors can explore historical landmarks such as the Sorrento Cathedral, a medieval gem known for its intricate architecture and artistic significance. The Basilica di Sant’Antonino, dedicated to the town’s patron saint, provides further insight into Sorrento’s religious and historical roots.
Sorrento also provides well-equipped marinas to cater to various vessel sizes. The Marina Grande in Sorrento offers first-class services and a vibrant waterfront atmosphere. Additionally, the Marina di Cassano offers a tranquil and secure harbor, making it an appealing choice for those seeking a more serene setting.
Naples
Naples is the third-largest city in Italy and is often referred to as the Capital of the south.
This is where the world’s favorite snack food “pizza” was invented, made from plain flour and topped with whatever was easily available in the territory – some fresh tomatoes, goat’s cheese, and herbs. They still make it as they used to centuries ago, and it’s just as delectable! Some of the best places to try Neapolitan pizza in Amalfi charter yacht include Pizzeria Donna Stella in Praiano, Pizzeria San Giovanni in Positano, and Pizzeria Da Nino in Ravello.
Besides food, Naples is also known for its stunning architecture, including the Royal Palace of Naples and the Castel dell’Ovo. The city is also home to the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, which houses an impressive collection of ancient Roman artifacts.
Our Favorite Amalfi Coast Attractions
Faraglioni Rocks at Capri
The Faraglioni Rocks are a set of three towering rock formations located off the coast of Capri. These majestic limestones rise from the sparkling waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea and are an iconic symbol of enduring romance.
The Faraglioni Rocks are also home to a variety of marine life, including many colorful fish and even some elusive sea turtles best experienced while swimming. Snorkeling and diving are also popular activities for yacht charters.
To fully enjoy the Faraglioni rocks, it’s best to wake up there for the sunrise and enjoy the day swimming or visit after the crows have left to enjoy the stunning sunset.
Blue Grotto
The Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra) is located on the northern coast of Capri, near the town of Anacapri. The water in the cave is some of the clearest water in the world and the cave’s interior is illuminated by a bright blue light from the reflection of sunlight. The cave can only be accessed by boat– anchor your charter yacht and enter the cave with small rowboats.
Blue Grotto can be crowded during peak season, a quieter alternative is Grotta dello Smeraldo (Emerald Grotto) in Conca dei Marini. (Every Christmas, Grotta dello Smeraldo features an underwater nativity scene with life-sized figures of the Holy Family, submerged 4m in the cave.)

Frequently Asked Questions
When is the Best Time for a Yacht Charter on the Amalfi Coast?
The optimal season for a yacht charter along the Amalfi Coast spans from May to August. The seas are generally calm during these months, and there is almost constant sunshine and clear skies, with temperatures reaching the nineties. If you do not like the intense heat, it’s advisable to plan a yacht charter outside June, July, and August.
The summer months on the Amalfi Coast see minimal rainfall, ensuring uninterrupted on-deck enjoyment without concern for unexpected showers. Additionally, the Sorrentine Peninsula benefits from being quite sheltered from strong wind on both its northern and southern ends, promising a seamless cruising experience.
How Much Does an Amalfi Coast Yacht Charter Cost?
With a wide variety of charter yacht choices and itineraries, there’s an option for every budget. Depending on what you wish to have and do on your yacht charter the price varies quite a bit. For an accurate estimate of your yacht charter cost, you should contact our brokers. They will be able to help you draw up a plan with you based on your wishes and budget.
How Do I Book an Amalfi Coast Yacht Charter?
Ideally, you’d inquire about an Amalfi yacht charter 12 months in advance. WHY? The best yachts are often fully booked long in advance and it’s not unusual to see popular dates booked 2 summers ahead for a yacht charter vacation on the Amalfi Coast. Inquiring less than 6 months ahead often means that your first choice is unavailable for charter. Additionally, you might find that the yacht you wish to charter can’t make it to the port where you wish to commence your yacht charter.

Our yacht broker, Louis Lamprell, was available, knowledgeable, friendly, and professional throughout the process. He helped me identify the correct size of catamaran for our cruise, as well as helping me—as a first time yach charterer—understand all the ins and outs of the process, what would be needed, what to expect, etc. The entire experience exceeded our expectations.
