Transcript — Captain's walkthrough of M/Y Orizzonte
Captain: This boat is a fantastic steel-hulled vessel, super deep in the water, very, very stable. We've got zero speed so we can sit at anchor with them, but the main thing on this boat is we don't move around when we're on the water, but importantly as well, we don't burn any fuel, so 66 liters per hour at 10 knots.
Broker: So with the current crisis, I'm sorry to go on about it, but fantastic value for...
Captain: I've been more closer to 200 or something.
Broker: Yeah, exactly.
Captain: I know, if not more, then 200 would be okay as well. This is incredible.
Broker: Previous yacht was burning through 750 an hour.
Captain: Okay, it was going twice as fast, and then maybe it was twice as far, but we don't want to do that. And this is a gentleman's cruiser, so we can plod along based in the South of France. We've got a permanent mooring all summer, and we are five crew, we have eight people on the boat, eight guests, so we're gonna look after our clients.
Captain: Oh, I think the Amalfi Coast. Come and do the Amalfi Coast with us. It's wonderful. And it's, you need seven days. I'll take you around the whole thing. That's all you need. Seven days, you'll see everything. You're not going to get bored and it's just beautiful. Really one of my favorite cruising grounds. Ischia, Capri. Then we go down then on the Sorrento Coast and we posit on the Amalfi and then round up to Sorrento. And then by then we use it at the end of the week. I've done years of charter down there. I know every rock in that area, I really do, but it's just something about it. It's worth it.
Broker: I know, such a busy area, like in the summer, so many boats. Can you still find a private bay? Can you still find somewhere where you have a little bit of a still quiet areas for a swim or?
Captain: Yeah, you can. And I think the thing with that area is all of the boats do tend to hang around around Capri. And on the southern side particularly, and all the big boats are anchored down there, we go there briefly, we get into the ports on this size boat, that's the important thing. So we can squeeze into Sorrento, we can get into Amalfi, we're the biggest you can get in there. And, you know, this makes a huge difference. So just in Ischia as well, there's a fantastic port called Sant'Angelo on the southern side of Italy. It's a pedestrian only village. It's wonderful. It's like you step back in time, they make lace on the island. It's an incredible place.
Broker: that you have to do, I think, as a crew and a captain, is you want your charter guests to be so happy, and they all keep in touch with me. And I believe many of them will come back here. It's just, I think it's showing effortless service. It's like going to a seven-star hotel, but you haven't got somebody hovering over you every second. You just have a fantastic time, great food, great experience. The captain's going to take you to all these amazing spaces. And if you're lucky, he even picks his guitar up and sings your song as well in the evening, which by the way, isn't as cringy as it sounds. Happens a lot. If you want to enjoy the Amalfi Coast with someone who absolutely loves it, go jump with me. That's something with me. Sorry. (Laughing)
