Captain: Francesco Martinelli

Captain Francesco Martinelli, Italian, 56 years old.
Master - Italian Merchant Marine - since 1994.
Having sailed the seven seas, he is now in command of “Sea Wish” and would be delighted to help youdiscover and enjoy the most gorgeous Sea of them all: The Mediterranean!
He worked formerly for the StazioneZoologica “Anton Dohrn” di Napoli, (celebrated Institute of Marine Biology, which houses the oldest nineteenth century marine aquarium still operating). He commanded the Anton Dohrn’soceanographic ship for 20 years with great professionalism and meticulous care.
In his role he worked with both institutional figures and research groups, building considerable skill in running a tight ship capable of conducting specialist scientific research combined with a helpful, warm and flexible attitude.
His long-standing collaboration with biologists created in him a deepinterest in marine flora and fauna.
His career started at a very young age as a deck boy on cargo ships.He then had a long career as an officer building formidable navigational experience on bulk carrier ships traveling to almost every continent on Earth.
He went on to build his technical knowledge working on other types of ships, which took him into ship construction and fitting out in Italy and China.
In his youth, his study of humanities and music led to his enduring passion for literature, arts and classical music.
In addition to his Italian mother-tongue, he speaks English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

Engineer: Carmine Scuotto, Italian, 48 years old
Carmine is Neapolitan and has always worked at sea. Since 1985 he works for the family of the Owner of SEA WISH, being employed on several yachts (as deck hand first and as engineer later on) such as the Ship "Peppino D’Amato“, the Riva Superamerica "Still Geel", then the Riva "Laural". He followed the construction and launch of SEA WISH, where he works since 2003.
SEA WISH holds no "secrets" pertaining engines, systems, water makers, air conditioning and the like... from Carmine! He is also an experienced licensed diver and can be a valid help for guests who love any kind of fishing; he loves fishing for his guests and serving freshly caught fish cooked by the chef. An accomplished seaman, Carmine combines his depth of marine and sailing knowledge with a sweet character and a flexible and personable attitude, ensuring guests have safe and enjoyable cruise of the highest standard.
Carmine is mother tongue Italian and speaks English at work level
